A reasonably priced source of environmental information BRAND NEW EDITION - ON APPROVAL On 13 July 2017 the 62 pages of the GREAT REPEAL BILL (EU (Withdrawal) Bill) were published and presented to Parliament. Depending on the outcome of the final negotiations, it is estimated that some 1,000 new Statutory Instruments will be required to deliver Brexit. Some 12,000 EU legislative acts must be copied and, where appropriate, amended. A new Section on Brexit is given together with a commentary throughout the text. The Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 are fully integrated throughout the text. There have been numerous amendments to legislation. This includes The Water Environment (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) Regulations 2017 and amendment of various Water measures including The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016. Other amendments cover Waste, Air, Contaminated Land and Noise. In addition, there is a review and simplification of Chemicals Regulations. Research has shown that information on environmental law and practice provides either too much or too little information. All of this necessitates a new approach - and a new handbook - “Environment Brief”. Written by a Solicitor with extensive experience of environmental law and practice in a major British plc, “Environment Brief” comprises some 1100 A5 pages in two loose-leaf Volumes and is contained in two smart, foam padded, leather-look Binders. Designed as either a stand-alone text or a companion text to “Health & Safety at Work Brief”, “Environment Brief” features both cross-referencing within its text and to the text of “Health & Safety at Work Brief”. The text is completely up to date, including the legislation cited above . Volume 1 of “Environment Brief” is comprised of an independent commentary of some 540 pages. It constitutes one stop treatment of environmental matters. Volume 2 is comprised of over 540 pages reproducing verbatim the consolidated legislative texts of Key Acts, Regulations, etc. The text states the law in England. It also states the law in general in Scotland and Wales.
